Bournemouth’s Philip Billing reacts after Alex Iwobi tries to recruit him for Nigeria

Bournemouth’s hefty midfielder Philip Billing has revealed that Everton star Alex Iwobi has made an attempt to recruit him for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Born Philip Anyanwu Billing in Copenhagen to a Nigerian father and a Danish mum the Bournemouth midfielder is eligible to represent the Eagles but that may not be the case.

The 23 year old said playing for Nigeria would be strange to considering he was born and bread in Denmark.

“A couple of weeks ago, Alex Iwobi asked if I might be interested in playing for Nigeria.

“I am half Nigerian and I feel that way too but I was born and raised in Denmark.

“My mother and my sister are Danish, so it would feel strange to have to play for Nigeria.”

The 6 ft 4 in tall midfielder had represented Denmark at the U-19 and U-21.
