BREAKING: Enyimba Wins Record 8th NPFL Title

Enyimba FC of Aba on Wednesday won her 8th Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL title after a win 3-0 over Akwa United at the NPFL Championship Playoff played at the Agege Township Stadium, Lagos.

The People’s Elephant came into the game top of the Playoff table with nine points and knew a win would ensure they are crowned champions.

The Usman Ab’dallah tutored side came up tops in an high intensity game and took the lead just before half time break when Reuben Bala tucked home from close range after a good pass from Joseph Osadiaye.

With Enyimba closing down all of Akwa United’s attack, the People’s Elephant extended their lead on the hour mark as Stanley Dimgba peeled off a ball-watching Akwa defence to head past goalkeeper Iwu from Okorom’s cross.

Abdulrahman Bashir scored a gorgeous goals from range in the latter stage of the game to win the title for the Aba Millionaires.
