Kano Pillars FC and Katsina United FC have secured promotion back to the Nigeria Premier League after the conclusion of Northern Conference games at the 2022/2023 NNL Super 8 playoff.
In the matchday three games decided today Wednesday July 5, Kano Pillars FC lost 0-1 to Katsina United FC while DMD FC defeated EFCC FC 3-0 in the other game .
As it stands, Kano Pillars FC finish on top of the standings with six points while Katsina United FC take second place with six points but with an inferior goal difference to Pillars.
DMD FC of Borno and EFCC FC are tied on three points respectively in third and fourth place respectively and will remain in the second tier next season following a failed promotion attempt in Delta State.
Recall that Kano Pillars FC and Katsina United FC suffered relegation from the Nigeria Premier league at the end of the 2021/2022 season.
After a single season in the second tier, both clubs are back in the first division of league football in Nigeria.
