Brentford Manager Confirms Long Injury layoff for Super Eagles Midfielder

- Optimistic his side can defeat Manchester United

Super Eagles Midfielder Frank Onyeka has missed five straight matches for English Premier League side Brentford. The 24-year-old Nigeria international has not featured for the Bees since their 2-0 win over Burnley on March 12.

Onyeka has missed the 2-1 defeat against Leicester City, 4-1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, 2-0 win against West Ham United, 2-1 victory against Watford, and last weekends 0-0 draw vs Tottenham Hotspur.

Ahead of this weekend’s encounter vs Manchester United, Brentford Manager Thomas Frank gave update on Onyeaka and other injured Bees in his pre match interview .

” Christian Norgaard and Kristoffer Ajer, touch wood, should be available to play on Monday,”

“Ethan Pinnock is not ready. We hope Southampton could be a possibility which is the same for Sergi Canos. However, Frank [Onyeka] could be longer. Saman Ghoddos is out with a twisted ankle.” Thomas Frank told the clubs website.B

Frank Onyeka joined Brentford from Midtjylland and has managed 20 appearances in the English top-flight . He has started 12 of these matches coming on as a substitute on eight occasions.

The Super Eagles Midfielder was part of the Nigerian team that failed to go past Ghana in the 2022 World cup qualification playoffs In March.

The long Injury layoff could rule him out of the immediate plans of the yet to be announced new Super Eagles Manager as the country moves on from the sad memories of missing the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
