English Premier League Club Brighton and Hove Albion are reportedly considering a transfer bid for Ajax defender Calvin Bassey this summer.
According to Football Transfers, Brighton are looking at reinforcement in defence with Chelsea youngster Levi Colwill their priority this summer but see Bassey as a cut-price option.
The Nigerian defender endured a difficult first season with Ajax and so will not attract a huge fee despite his quality and versatility in defence.
As reported by Sky sports, Chelsea have rejected a first Brighton bid for Levi Colwill who spent the 2022/2023 season on-loan at the Amex Stadium based club.
A move for out of favour Calvin Bassey could be considered as a cool option for both the player and his current club who will look to recoup a part of the money spent for his transfer from Glasgow Rangers last summer.
As it stands, Ajax value Calvin Bassey at twenty million pounds which should not be a concern for Brighton who have seen their thirty-five million pounds bid rejected for Levi Colwill by Chelsea FC.
