Brighton v Derby: Lampard rules Ambrose out of FA Cup tie

Derby County headcoach, Frank Lampard has ruled out the possibilities of new signing Efe Ambrose featuring for the Rams in their FA Cup 5th round clash against Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Saturday.

Following the confirmation of the Nigerian defender as the new addition to the Championship side, Lampard who expressed his delight at signing the former Celtic defender ruled out his chances of facing the Premier League side.

Lampard told newsmen during the prematch breifing that the clash would be too soon for the 30-year-old defender who should be available for selection in coming weeks.

“Efe Ambrose is a week or two away from being considered for inclusion in the matchday squad.”

The implications is that Efe Ambrose could make his debut for Derby in their home game against Milwall on the 20th of February or in their away game against Nottingham Forest on the 25th of February.
