Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Bruno Guimarães after agreeing a £75 million deal with Newcastle United for the Brazilian midfielder.
The two clubs reached an agreement following weeks of negotiations. Reports indicated that Guimarães had already agreed personal terms with Arsenal in July. The 28-year-old is now expected to undergo a medical before the transfer is officially completed.
Guimarães has been one of Newcastle’s standout players since arriving from Lyon in 2022, becoming captain and playing a key role in the club’s recent success. His move to the Emirates is expected to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s midfield ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League title defence and Champions League campaign.
Neither Arsenal nor Newcastle has officially announced the transfer, and Guimarães has not yet spoken publicly about the move. However, with the fee agreed and personal terms already in place, only the medical and final paperwork remain before the deal is completed.
The transfer is expected to be confirmed in the coming days, making Guimarães one of Arsenal’s biggest signings of the summer.
