Bucks shock Heat, Thunder extend winning streak
The Milwaukee Bucks pulled off the shock of Tuesday’s NBA action with a stunning performance against the Miami Heat.
The Bucks put the Heat to the sword in a 91-79 win with a strong team effort to seal a 12th win of the season.
Khris Middleton was the Bucks’ chief scorer, hitting 22 points despite scoring just 40 per cent of his field goals, while he was well supported by Greg Monroe (15) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (14).
More than half of the Heat’s total came from joint top-scorers Chris Bosh and Hassan Whiteside, who scored 23 each for a combined 46.
The Oklahoma City Thunder extended its winning streak to five after a solid 110-104 win against the Denver Nuggets.
The Nuggets started the game stronger, winning the first quarter, but were blown away in the second as the Thunder overturned the six-point deficit at quarter-time to establish a four-point lead by half-time.
One-point wins in the remaining quarters sealed the result, as Kevin Durant impressed once more, shooting 30 points and picking up 12 defensive rebounds.
Danilo Gallinari top-scored for the Nuggets with 27.
The Indiana Pacers prevailed in a tight contest against the Phoenix Suns 97-94, despite a huge performance from Devin Booker who notched 32 points.
His individual contribution was trumped by a good spread of Pacers, with Monta Ellis scoring 20 and Paul George scoring 19.
Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans accounted for the Minnesota Timberwolves 114-99.
