CAF appoints Fabricio Duarte as referee for Nigeria-Seychelles clash in Asaba

CAF has appointed Cape Verde’s Fabricio Duarte as the centre referee when the Super Eagles of Nigeria host Seychelles in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba on March 23.

Duarte will be assisted by his compatriots Jose Carlos Alexandre Pins Mendes and Delgado Fernandes Wilson Jorge who will serve as assistant referees for the dead rubber Group E clash.

The Super Eagles are already through to Egypt 2019 after holding the Bafana Bafana of South Africa to a 1-1 draw in their last game in the qualifiers at the FNB Stadium, Johannesburg.

Seychelles are without a win in the group and have conceded 22 times in five matches.

The Super Eagles defeated the Pirates 3-0 in the reverse fixture last year, their first win in the group after going down to a 2-0 home defeat to South Africa in their first game in the qualifiers.

Gernot Rohr’s men are expected to start preparations for the game next week Monday in Asaba.

The German has invited 23 players for the game with only two local based stars in the list.

The West Africans will also take on the the Pharaohs of Egypt in a friendly match on March 26 in Asaba.
