CAF Confederation Cup: Kwara United Coach Confident of Beating Asante Kotoko

Kwara United head coach, Tunde Sanni, says his team will not be stopped by Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko when both sides meet in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup tie.
The Afonja Warriors will host the match at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta on Sunday after their Ilorin home ground failed to meet CAF approval. Despite this setback, Sanni is confident his players are ready to advance to the next round.
Kwara United lost the first leg 4-3 in Ghana, but the coach believes the away goals show his side’s strength.
“For us to concede four goals means they really tried, but scoring three away goals shows we also did well. In the second leg, we will get a better result,” Sanni said.
The club, owned by Kwara State, is still riding on the high of winning their first-ever Federation Cup title earlier this year. Sanni admitted his top players underperformed in the first leg but assured fans that all weaknesses will be corrected before Sunday’s 4pm kick-off.
“All I know is that Kotoko cannot stop us. Their team is strong tactically, but you cannot write us off. Most of our key players did not play well in the first leg, and that’s why we conceded four goals. But they will fall in Nigeria. We are determined and will not lose,” he added.
