CAFCC: Al Hilal Hit Uyo With 22 Players For Akwa United

A 33 man strong Al Hilal of Sudan delegation comprising 22 players and 11 officials will arrive Lagos on Sunday April 15 for the crucial return leg play off of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Though CAF regulations stipulate a squad of 25 with 18 players and 7 officials, the Sudanese Champions are not leaving anything to chance for the match that will determine who goes ahead to the Group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Boasting a 2-0 advantage in the first leg, the Nigerian Aiteo Cup Champions must score three unreplied goals to move into the lucrative money spinning stage

Technical Adviser of the Uyo based side, Abdu Maikaba told reporters in Uyo on Friday that “In football, nothing is impossible”.  I don’t have to go too far back in history.  Ask Barcelona, ask Real Madrid.  On both occasions, the underdogs held sway.

“We respect the Sudanese, they were established over 88 years ago and are perennial CAF Champions league Campaigners yet in Uyo, we are sure they will meet their waterloo” He said.

An advance party led by Mr. Hassan Taha arrived Uyo Saturday morning to make hotel reservations and other logistics. The match is scheduled for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium for Wednesday, April 18 2018 by 4:00 p.m prompt.
