Rivers United FC have adopted the Nest of Champions in Uyo as home ground for the 2022/2023 CAF Confederation Cup group stage matches.
The Nest of Champions Uyo officially named after former Akwa Ibom State Governor Godswill Akpabio has a 35,000 sitting capacity.
The venue hosted last seasons CAF Confederation Cup final match between RSB Berkane and Orlando Pirates and is adjudged as one of the best in Africa.
Rivers United FC’s home ground the Adokieye Amasiamaka stadium Port Harcourt hosted the clubs preliminary round games but fell short of requirements for the group stage games.
The Pride of Rivers will thus play their home matches vs ASEC Mimosas (February 19 ), DC Motema Pembe (March 8), Diables Noirs (March 19) in Uyo.
Rivers United FC are Nigeria’s surviving representative on the continent this season.
