Carlo Ancelotti begs important Real Madrid player to stay
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly urging the club’s captain, Nacho, to reconsider his decision to leave at the end of the season.
Nacho, 34, who has been with Real Madrid for 23 years, informed the club that he plans to let his contract expire in search of a new challenge.
Ancelotti is keen to retain Nacho, especially after the defender’s pivotal role in leading Real Madrid to a league and Champions League double.
Nacho’s performance alongside Antonio Rudiger in the 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund, which secured Real Madrid’s 15th Champions League title, highlighted his importance to the team.
According to Marca, Ancelotti has personally appealed to Nacho, saying, “Don’t do something crazy; stay here, with us, at Real Madrid.”
Nacho, a product of Real Madrid’s youth academy, La Fabrica, has attracted interest from several clubs. Inter Miami has reportedly made an offer, and Al Nassr, through Cristiano Ronaldo, has also shown interest in reuniting former Real Madrid stars at the club.
