Carlos Alcaraz advances to Australian Open Round of 16
Carlos Alcaraz has moved into the fourth round of the Australian Open with a straight sets win over Corentin Moutet, winning 6-2, 6-4, 6-1 today, Friday, January 23, 2026.
The victory marked another milestone for Alcaraz. He now holds an 87–13 record in his first 100 Grand Slam matches, a mark achieved only by Bjorn Borg in the Open Era.
He has dropped just one set so far in Melbourne and has reached the second week of the Australian Open for the third year in a row.
Alcaraz has also extended his Grand Slam winning streak to 10 matches, continuing a run of consistency at the majors.
Next up is a round-of-16 meeting with Tommy Paul, setting up a rematch of their 2024 Indian Wells clash, which Paul won.
Off the court, Alcaraz has made a small adjustment to his setup, adding his brother Álvaro Alcaraz to his coaching team for the tournament.
