Celebration in Akwa Ibom State over National Youths Games Football Bronze medal win
News that Team Akwa Ibom defeated Kaduna State 2-1 to win the bronze medal match of the ongoing 2023 National Youths Games has sparked celebration in the South-south state.
WHAT HAPPENED: SportsRation correspondent Nsikakabasi Akpan broke news of the victory on his Facebook handle, to start celebration and congratulatory message to the Akwa Ibom State National Youths Games male football team.
In separate comments, excited fans , praised the depleted team Akwa Ibom boys for their efforts to deliver the state’s seventh medal at the ongoing National Youths Games in Delta State.
ROAD TO BRONZE: Akwa Ibom State arrived in Delta State for the 7th National Youths Games as winners of the south-south elimination.
The team was left depleted when nine of the eighteen players were disqualified at the screening on Friday, September 22.
The numerical disadvantage notwithstanding, Akwa Ibom State defeated Yobe State on two occasions to reach the last-4.
