CHAN Super Eagles Star Imoh Obot Leaves Enyimba FC After Successful Spell
CHAN Super Eagles star, Imoh Obot, has officially ended his time with Enyimba FC. SportsRation can confirm that both the player and the club have agreed to part ways at the end of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Obot joined Enyimba FC in 2020 from Dakkada FC. Over the years, he grew into one of the best left-backs in the country. Known for his powerful left foot, skillful dribbling, and set-piece abilities, Obot holds the record for most free-kick goals by a defender in the NPFL over the past three seasons.
During his time at Enyimba FC, Obot helped the team win the NPFL title and also took part in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.
Now that his contract has ended, several top clubs are interested in signing him. Rivers United FC, now coached by former Nigerian international Finidi George. Finidi worked with Obot at Enyimba and will likely be keen to reunite with the defender. Also, top Nigerian clubs are rumoured to have the left-back on their wishlist.
As things stand, Imoh Obot is expected to be part of the CHAN Super Eagles squad for the upcoming African Nations Championship later this year.
