Changchun Yatai 2 Jiangsu Suning 5: Ighalo’s 18th league strike not enough

Odion Ighalo’s 18th strike in the Chinese Super League wasn’t enough to save Changchun Yatai as they suffered a 5-2 home loss to Jiangsu Suning in their matchday 24 clash at Development Area Stadium on Saturday.

The visitors took the lead in the 13th minutes of the game when Xie Pengfei scored an own goal.

One became two in the 35th minutes when Alex Teixeira scored from Eder’s great pass, the Brazilian strike and the owngoal were the difference at the end of the first half.

In the 54th minutes of the game, Xie Pengfei made it three for the visitors before Odion Ighalo scored from the spot in the 68th minutes to reduce the deficit.

Former Inter Milan and Italy striker scored to help the away team restore their three-goal lead in the 78th minutes.

Eder completed his brace with his 88th minutes strike to increase Jiangsu Suning tally to 5.

Both of Eder’s goals where assisted by Alex Teixeira.

Yufeng X scored for the hosts in the last minute of the game to reduce the deficit to three.

Odion Ighalo strike is his 18th of the season, he is now second in the top scorers chat with just three behind Wu Lei sits top with 21 goals.
