Chelsea loanee vouch to repay fans against Manchester United

The striker made his first competition appearance for the Swans in last Saturday’s 0-0 draw at St Mary’s.

Abraham, who is on a season-long loan from Chelsea, was given a rousing reception by the 3,400 Swans fans that made the trip to the South Coast.

Now he is looking to return the gesture by finding the net on his home debut against Manchester United on Saturday (12.15pm).

“To hear the fans singing my name, especially in my first competitive game for the club, meant a lot to me,” said Abraham.

“It shows that they have confidence in me and I aim to repay them for that support by getting on the scoresheet.

“It was a difficult game on Saturday. I would have loved to have marked my debut with a goal – I tried my best and I went close with the header in the first half.

“Hopefully I can score a goal on my first league game at the Liberty against Manchester United on Saturday.”
