Chijioke Akuneto’s goal helps MFM end 6-game winless run

MFM finally returned to winning ways with a 1-0 win against Rivers United at the Soccer Temple in a league game played on Sunday.

Chijioke Akuneto’s goal from the spot kick in the fifth minute of the game was all that Fidelis Ilechukwu boys needed to finally end their winless run.

Since MFM recorded a 2-0 home win against Bendel Insurance on the 17th of March, they had played 6 games without victory. Infact, they recorded three draws, and three losses within the time frame.

Two of the three draws were in their fortress, the Soccer Temple, but today, they returned to winning ways with the slim 1-0 win.

The win consolidated MFM third place spot in group A as fight for top three finish hots up.
