China Builds and Donates New Stadium to Chad
Chad has received a brand-new Olympic stadium, built and donated by China. The 30,000-seat facility, located in the capital city N’Djamena, was officially opened on Friday by President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno.
The stadium, named the Marshal Idriss Deby Itno Olympic Stadium, is now the biggest in Chad. President Deby described it as a clear result of the strong partnership between Chad and China, based on “mutual interest, respect, and shared goals.”
China’s Ambassador to Chad, Wang Xining, said the stadium is a symbol of the long-lasting friendship between the two countries. He expressed hope that the stadium will help Chad grow in international sports.
“We believe Chad has a bright future. China wants to continue working closely with Chad and the rest of the world to support the country’s development and build a better future together,” said the ambassador.
The stadium was built by China’s Shaanxi Construction Engineering Group and officially handed over to Chad’s government on 12 May.
