“Chrisantus Uche Staying Put – Agent Dismisses Premier League Rumours as False”

The agent of Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche has denied recent reports linking the young star with a move to the Premier League, calling them “not true.”

Uche, who joined La Liga side Getafe from Spanish third-tier club Ceuta last July for €500,000, had a strong debut season. The 22-year-old played 33 matches, scoring four goals and providing six assists. His performances quickly caught the eye of fans and scouts, with his dribbling, strength, and technical ability earning praise.

As a result, his market value has reportedly shot up from €400k to €8 million, though Getafe are said to value him at over €20 million.

In recent weeks, rumours have linked Uche with Premier League sides like Chelsea, Brentford, Newcastle United, Sunderland, Leeds United, and even Atletico Madrid. But his agent, Peter Ejiasi, has spoken out to set the record straight.

“There’s no truth to those [Premier League] rumours. Uche is happy at Getafe and focused on Russia with his national team,” Ejiasi told SP Getafe.

“When the transfer window opens, a lot of stories start flying around. But it’s too early to say anything for certain.”

Uche is currently under a four-year contract with Getafe, with the option of a one-year extension.

While transfer interest may continue to build due to his form, his agent’s message is clear — for now, Uche is going nowhere.

Whether or not a move happens in the future remains to be seen, but for the moment, the Getafe midfielder is focused on his football, not transfer rumours.
