Christian Pulisic: My dad still call me Luis Figo

Borussia Dortmund and United States national team player Christian Pulisic has said Luis Figo was his role model while growing up and his father still calls him by the Portuguese legendary attacker’s name.

The 18-year-old attacker who is with the United States national team as they prepare to face Mexico in a World Cup qualifier match told ‘The Herd’ host Collin Cowherd that the 2001 Ballon d’Or winner was the player he wanted to be like and idolized while growing up.

When asked if Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi or Clint Dempsey was his favourite player of all time he said:”Luis Figo, another Portuguese player.”

“He was always my favourite I am not sure how I came about it but I always loved watching him while growing up.

“He had great skill on the pitch, watching him play he was quick, and I thought to myself I could play in a similar way and my dad still calls me Figo till today.”
