Chukwueze and Nwabili arrive to bolster Super Eagles’ camp as AFCON preparation intensifies
As the Super Eagles gear up for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire, the arrival of Samuel Chukwueze and Stanley Nwabili has swelled the camp’s contingent to 19 players.
The duo joined the team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, marking another step in the team’s preparation for the upcoming tournament.
Jose Peseiro, the head coach of the Super Eagles, will oversee the team’s first training session tonight in Abu Dhabi.
The squad is expected to spend approximately a week at their Abu Dhabi base before heading to Abidjan for the AFCON competition.
Nigeria will be competing in Group A alongside the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire, as well as Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
The current roster of players in camp includes Ahmed Musa, Kenneth Omeruo, Moses Simon, Olorunleke Ojo, Alex Iwobi, Semi Ajayi, Ola Aina, Cavin Bassey, Ademola Lookman, Joe Aribo, Frank Onyeka, Bruno Onyemaechi, Chidozie Awaziem, Zaidu Sanusi, Victor Boniface, Bright Onyedika, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Samuel Chukwueze, and Stanley Nwabili.
