Clean Sheet for Maduka Okoye as Sparta Rotterdam win to climb out of relegation zone.

Maduka Okoye was again instrumental to Sparta Rotterdam’s fight against the drop as he kept a clean sheet in the 2-0 win over PEC Zwolle in the Dutch Eredivise today.

PEC Zwolle dominated possession but could not find a way past Super Eagles Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye. Two first half strikes by Sparta and a home loss for Fortuna Sittard ensured Sparta Rotterdam move out of the drop zone with a game to the end of the season.

After 33 games, Maduka Okoye and Sparta have amassed 32 points to sit 15th on the standings level on points with Fortuna Sittard who occupy the relegation Playoff spot.

Maduka Okoye and his teammates will now turn their focus to the final game of the season against 14th placed Heracles who themselves are not safe with only two points separating them from Sparta Rotterdam and Fortuna Sittard.

The Nigerian shot stopper will hope to finish well before reporting for International duties having been listed in the Super Eagles 30 man squad for the friendly games vs Mexico and Ecuador respectively.
