Club Brugge 3 Kortrijk 0: Danjuma’s brace helps champions stay perfect

Lagos-born Netherland U-21 player Arnaut Groeneveld Danjuma scored two goals to help Club Brugge to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Kortrijk at the Jan Breydelstadion in their Belgian first division A clash on Friday.

The four capped Netherland U-21 player born to a Nigerian father and Netherland mother was untouchable as he fired the champions past Kortrijk to help the Blue-Black stay perfect.

Arnaut Danjuma who was playing just his third game for the Ivan Leko tutored side following his summer move from NEC Nijmegen where he scored 11 league goals in 28 league appearances for the Dutch club, scored two quick goals to sink Kortrijk.

Arnaut Danjuma opened the scoring in the third minutes for the hosts when he scored from Mats Rits assist. Just five minutes after he scored the first goal he scored his second from Jelle Vossen assist.

His goals were all that separated the two sides at the end of the first half.

Siebe Schrijvers 57th minutes strike completed the 3-0 victory over the visiting team who had ex-Nigeria youth international Abdul Ajagun in their rank.

Arnaut Danjuma was subbed off for Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis in the 74th minutes.

Arnaut Danjuma who has been playing as a left wing-back in Ivan Leko’s 3-5-2 formation has now scored 2 goals in as many as three games.
