Coco Gauff defeats Muchová to reach Australian Open Quarterfinals

Coco Gauff moved into the quarterfinals of the Australian Open after a three set win over Karolína Muchová, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.

Coco Gauff took control early and won the first set comfortably before Muchová responded in the second. The match was decided in the third set, where Gauff remained consistent and made fewer mistakes to pull away and close out the match.

With the result, Coco Gauff reaches her third straight Australian Open quarterfinal and the 10th Grand Slam quarterfinal of her career. She also improves her win loss record for the 2026 season to 7–1.
