‘ Come to the Premier League ‘ – Bassey urges Osimhen
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has received advice from international teammate Calvin Bassey regarding a potential future move outside Napoli.
Despite recently extending his contract until 2026, Osimhen continues to attract interest from major European clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid.

Bassey, emphasizing Osimhen’s qualities, described him as an exceptional striker capable of running a back line by himself, excelling in various aspects of the game such as running in behind, heading, and finishing.
The Super Eagles teammate expressed a preference for having Osimhen on his team rather than facing him on the opposing side.
“He is a joke — the only striker I know who can run a back line by himself. He can run in behind, he can head, finish, he can do everything, ” Fulham FC defender Calvin Bassey said per the Athletic.
PREMIER LEAGUE CALL
In terms of a potential destination for Osimhen, Bassey suggested that the Premier League would be a suitable fit for the Nigerian striker.
Bassey who already has midfielder, Alex Iwobi as teammate also playfully remarked that he would rather have Osimhen as a teammate than compete against him.
“The Prem would suit him. Hopefully, he comes at some point, but I’d rather have him in my team than against him!”
TIED UNTIL 2026
In a recent development, Osimhen has commited to Napoli SSC until 2026.
The striker signed a new contract which ties him to the Italian champions until 2026, as announced on Saturday, December 23, 2023.
Osimhen’s performances have been crucial for Napoli, leading them to the Serie A title in the 2022/23 season but this season has not gone smoothly in the league.
In his last match, Osimhen saw red as AS Roma defeated Napoli 2-0 in the Serie A to push the champions down to seventh place and further away from the top of the table.
Bassey’s Fulham FC also suffered a 0-2 loss to Burnley on the same day in a Premier league week eighteen fixture at Craven Cottage.
