Como Humiliate Lens 9-1 in Champions League as Fabregas’ Side Deliver Extraordinary Performance

Como produced a stunning performance in the Champions League, putting nine goals past RC Lens in a remarkable 9-1 victory that further underlined their growing ambitions under Cesc Fabregas.
The Italian side were in complete control for much of the contest, with Anastasios Douvikas leading the charge in an outstanding attacking display. The striker opened the scoring just seven minutes into the game before doubling Como’s advantage in the 32nd minute.
Nico Paz made it 3-0 in the 40th minute, leaving Lens with a mountain to climb before the break. But things got even worse for the French side after half-time.
Lucas da Cunha added a fourth in the 47th minute, while Oliver Kempf struck six minutes later. Douvikas then completed his hat-trick in the 57th minute as Como continued to find space in the Lens defence.
Ruben Aguilar pulled one back for the hosts in the 65th minute, but it did little to change the picture. Como remained relentless, with Marco Liberali and Martin Baturina adding further goals before Matteo Papaccioli rounded off the scoring in stoppage time.
It was a remarkable night for Fabregas, whose side have now shown they can cause serious problems for established European clubs. Como’s attacking confidence has been particularly impressive, with their latest performance sending a clear warning to the rest of the competition.
For Lens, it was a night they will want to forget quickly after being overwhelmed by an opponent who seemed capable of scoring every time they moved forward.
