Confirmed: Vandrezzer FC returns to Akwa Ibom State

Vandrezzer Football Club will leave Lagos and return to Akwa Ibom State for the 2022/2023 season , Media and communications director of the Club George Iniabasi Essien confirmed today.

George Iniabasi Essien popularly known as Mighty George made this disclosure on a live radio program on Comfort 95.1fm Uyo on Thursday 1st September 2022.

 

Vandrezzer FC owned by Akwa Ibom born business mogul Joe Udofia was founded in the South South state before a venue inspired misunderstanding contributed to their relocation to Lagos State in January 2021 .

January 22, 2021 , Day Vandrezzer FC players touched down in Lagos following their relocation.

After two seasons , playing at different venues in Lagos, Vandrezzer FC will return to Akwa Ibom State and make the newly constructed Eket Sports Stadium their home ground .

 

News of Vandrezzer FC’s return to Akwa Ibom State Sportsration understands, will bring smile to the faces of sports lovers in the land of Promise.

From the first ever Vandrezzer FC home game at the Ikot Ekpene Township stadium in 2019 to their ongoing participation at the ValueJet Pre-season tournament, this fans have remained the clubs most passionate supporters and will welcome the lions home .

 

Date for the commissioning of the Eket Sports Stadium has not been officially announced by the Akwa Ibom State Government but Sportsration gathered preparations are in top gear to officially open the facility this month.

 

Akwa Ibom State is home to two NPFL clubs , Akwa United FC and Dakkada FC . Both clubs played at the 35,000 capacity Nest of Champions in the just concluded NPFL season.

 

The Nigerian National League sides in the 2021/2022 season Ibom Youths FC and FC ONE Rockets made use of the Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium and the Practice Pitch of the Nest of Champions respectively .

 

In the just concluded NNL season , Vandrezzer FC operated from their Clubs Camp in Uyo the Akwa Ibom State capital from where they travelled to play their home games in Lagos , a routine that may have contributed to their inability to secure the sole promotion ticket in Group B1 .

As confirmed by the clubs Media director , the comeback is complete, The Lions of Naija will Roar in Eket , Akwa Ibom State from the 2022/2023 season.
