Copenhagen 2 Midtjylland 1: Paul Onuachu’s effort not enough in top of the table clash

Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu gave his all at Telia Parken as Midtjylland bowed 2-1 to Copenhagen in Danish Supaliga top of the league table clash.

Paul Onuachu’s Midtjylland went to the Telia Parken joint top with Copenhagen, and occupied the top spot due to their superior goal difference but in the they relinquished the spot to their rivals.

Like a house on fire the hosts came out to make their intentions known and were rewarded in the 34th minutes when Robert Skov opened the scoring.

Paul Onuachu who is among the league’s top scorers taught he had scored his 10th of the season when his back heel went off the foot of Jan Gregus for the equalizer in the 78th minute of the game.

But his strike was awarded to Jan Gregus as an own goal instead of a goal for Paul Onuachu.

Jan Gregus went from villian to hero when he popped up in the 82nd minute of the game to score the winner for Copenhagen to the delight of the home crowd and condemned Paul Onuachu and co to loss of points and top spot.

Rilwan Hassan and Frank Onyeka also played in the game for Midtylland.

Paul Onuachu with 9 goals in 15 league games will continue to push for the top scorer’s gong but for now he has Wilczek (12), N’Doye (10), and Skov (10) ahead of him.
