Cote d’Ivoire coach, Jean Louis Gasset has shared insights into his team’s awareness of the strengths possessed by the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of their AFCON clash.

The Elephants of Cote D’ivoire secured a victory over Guinea-Bissau in the opening group fixture, with goals from Jean-Philippe Krasso and Seko Fofana propelling them to the top of Group A with three points.

Thursday’s face-off between Jean Gasset’s Elephants and Jose Peseiro’s Super Eagles promises to be a fierce battle, with both teams eager to secure all three points and advance further in their quest for qualification.

Coach Gasset emphasized his understanding of the Nigerian team’s strengths, particularly highlighting their impressive offensive capabilities and the presence of the best African player in their squad.

He acknowledged the challenges posed by the Super Eagles but expressed confidence in his players’ ability to elevate their performance.

In his words, “Regarding our second match, we know the strengths of Nigeria, they have an impressive offensive armada, they have the best African player in their squad, but against them, we will have to raise our cursor, and I know my players will do it because I know you had to win that first game to be released.”

As both teams prepare to lock horns, the Stade Olympique Ouattara is set to witness a thrilling clash on Thursday.

The Eagles on their part are determined to get a positive outcome against the tournament hosts.

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabili declared the game a must win for Nigeria.
