Cristiano Ronaldo breaks European qualifiers goal scoring records despite Robbie Keane’s plea also becomes the 1st to score against 40 nations

Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has ignored a plea from retired Irish and Spurs star Robbie Keane.

Robbie Keane who held the record for the most goals scored in European Championship qualifiers pleaded with the former United star to leave the record for him.

Robbie Keane was on 23 goals while Cristiano Ronaldo on 20 as at when he pleaded with the Juventus star before his goal in Portugal’s 4-2 win at Serbia over the weekend.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s four-goal salvo in the UEFA Nations League champions 5-1 win at Lithuania on Tuesday put him atop the table of the qualifiers top scorer with 25 while Robbie Keane now 2nd with 23.

Cristiano Ronaldo has now also scored against 40 different nations; a total of 54 career hat-tricks with 8 coming in the colours of Portugal.
