Cristiano Ronaldo chooses Madeira for wedding to Georgina Rodriguez

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly set to marry Georgina Rodriguez in Madeira, Portugal, with the football superstar choosing the island for a deeply personal reason.
The wedding, which is expected to attract worldwide attention, is reportedly scheduled for August 8, 2026. While Ronaldo could have chosen a number of luxury locations, Madeira holds a special place in his heart.
Ronaldo was born and raised in Madeira before leaving the island at the age of 11 to join Sporting Lisbon’s academy and begin his journey towards becoming one of football’s biggest stars.

Despite achieving huge success and building an estimated fortune of between $1.2 billion and $1.4 billion, Ronaldo has remained closely connected to his home island.
Reports had previously claimed that Ronaldo and Georgina would marry at Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra. However, those reports appeared to lose weight after the estate remained open to visitors on the reported wedding date.
Funchal, Madeira’s capital, later emerged as the expected location for the ceremony. The city’s cathedral is set to provide a meaningful setting for one of the biggest moments of Ronaldo’s personal life.

Funchal has also paid tribute to Ronaldo over the years, including with a bronze statue and a hotel named after the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
The wedding reception is reportedly expected to take place at the Savoy Palace, where the couple and their guests will celebrate after the church ceremony.
Ronaldo and Georgina’s relationship
Ronaldo and Georgina first met in 2016 when Georgina was working at a Gucci store in Madrid.
Their relationship grew over the years, and Ronaldo reportedly proposed to Georgina in August 2025.
The couple have two daughters together, Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda. They also welcomed twins, Eva Maria and Mateo, through surrogacy.
Ronaldo is also the father of Cristiano Jr. Sadly, Bella’s twin brother, Angel, died shortly after birth.
After years together, Ronaldo and Georgina are now preparing to take the next step in their relationship, with their wedding expected to bring together family, friends and some of the biggest names in football.
