Cristiano Ronaldo Hints at Al Nassr Exit After Final Match
Cristiano Ronaldo may have played his last game for Al Nassr. The Portuguese star scored in Al Nassr’s 3-2 defeat against Al Fateh on Monday, which is believed to be his final appearance for the Saudi Pro League side.
Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 42nd minute with what is claimed to be the 800th goal of his club career. However, Al Nassr conceded twice in the last 10 minutes and missed out on qualification for the AFC Champions League.
After the match, the former Manchester United forward shared a cryptic message on social media.
“This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all,” Ronaldo wrote, posting a photo of himself in his Al Nassr shirt.
Last week, FIFA president Gianni Infantino said “discussions” were ongoing about a possible move that would allow Ronaldo to take part in this summer’s Club World Cup.
Al Nassr did not qualify for the 32-team tournament. Infantino’s comments, made during a conversation with YouTuber IShowSpeed, have fuelled rumours about Ronaldo’s next move.
FIFA has introduced a special transfer window from 1 to 10 June to let clubs register players for the Club World Cup. After two and a half years at Al Nassr, Ronaldo could be set for a fresh chapter in his career.
