Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. Makes Portugal U-15 Debut in 4-1 Win Over Japan
Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., son of Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, made his international debut for Portugal’s Under-15 team on Tuesday in a 4-1 win over Japan at the Vlatko Markovic Tournament in Croatia.
The 14-year-old forward came on in the second half, replacing Abdu Cassama, and proudly wore the famous No. 7 shirt, just like his father.
Although he didn’t start the match, his appearance still created a lot of excitement among fans who have been eager to see the youngster follow in his father’s footsteps.
His grandmother, Maria Dolores Aveiro, who often supports Cristiano Ronaldo at matches, was present in the stands to cheer him on.
Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. currently plays for the youth team at Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, where his father also plays. However, Cristiano Ronaldo Sr. was not at the match and had also missed Al-Nassr’s 9-0 win over Al Akhdoud on Monday. He is expected to return for their next game on May 16 against Al-Taawoun.
Portugal’s U-15 team will next face Greece on Wednesday, followed by a match against England on Friday, before finishing the tournament on Sunday against a team yet to be confirmed.
