Crown FC Apologises to Fans After Home Defeat

Crown Football Club has apologised to its supporters following a 1-0 home loss to Gateway FC.
General Manager Olamide Ilupeju and Technical Adviser Fatai Osho spoke to fans after the disappointing result at Soun Stadium. The defeat continued a difficult run for the Ajilete Warriors at home, where they have collected just two points from their last three matches, leaving the club in a worrying position in the Nigeria National League Conference A.
“We deeply apologise to our fans and supporters,” Ilupeju said. “The players and technical crew gave everything on the pitch. We never planned to lose. Unfortunately, football can be cruel at times.”
He admitted that a missed penalty after conceding was a key moment in the game. Ilupeju added that the club’s management and technical team would hold an urgent review to identify problems and put corrective measures in place.
Osho expressed frustration over the team’s execution. “Even if we had won 3-0, I would still have had concerns,” he said. He highlighted a disallowed first-half goal and the missed penalty as pivotal moments that affected the team’s performance.
Despite the setback, Osho pointed to positives from recent matches, including a 1-1 away draw against Inter Lagos, which he said had built confidence in the squad. He urged supporters to remain patient and continue backing the team.
Both Ilupeju and Osho reaffirmed their commitment to improving performances as Crown FC prepares for next weekend’s important clash against Edel FC.
