CS Sfaxien 1 Rangers 1: Flying Antelopes draw in Tunisia to remain top

Rangers International pulled a remarkable 1-1 draw at the Stade Taïeb Mhiri Stadium against SC Sfaxien to remain top of group with 4 points after two rounds of games.

Rangers International were no push overs for their hosts, CS Sfaxien in their CAF Confederation Cup match day two clash in Tunisia.

Gbenga Ogunbote boys who were led upfront by returning Bobby Clement gave their hosts a run for their money. Rangers were cautiously set up to match their hosts who won their first game against Tunisia rivals Etoile du Sahel on match day 1.

It was not business as usual for CS Sfaxien as Rangers went man for man without unnecessarily setting back and soaking up pressure.

They held SC Sfaxien to a goalless 45 minute, but within 3 minutes towards the end of the game the goals came.

Alaa Marzouki put the hosts in front in the 71st minute but relentless Rangers rallied and got the equalizer just two minutes after going down through Ousmane Sane.

While Rangers battled for a 1-1 draw against SC Sfaxien in Tunisia, Etoile du Sahel played a goalless draw against Ouagadougou-based Salitas in Burkina Faso.

The implications of the results is that Rangers who won their first game now top the group with four points, Sfaxien 2nd with same points but inferior goal difference.

While Etoile du Sahel go 3rd and Salitas FC in the 4th position.
