Cunningham shines as Detroit Pistons record successive wins

Trail Blazers, Celtics, Hornets all win

The Detroit Pistons put on an impressive performance in front of their fans to claim a hard-fought 126-116 win over the Utah Jazz in their NBA clash on Monday.

Having hardly covered themselves in glory this season, more of the same was expected from the Detroit Pistons against the Jazz in thus game. The Jazz had a 14-point lead over the Detroit Pistons by the end of the first quarter of action.

The Detroit Pistons rallied, however, and put up a good fight to emerge with the win at the Little Caesars Arena. Saddiq Bey and Cade Cunningham led the scoring for the Detroit Pistons with 29 points apiece, with Cunningham contributing another eight assists and Bey getting six rebounds.

The Charlotte Hornets picked up a 103-99 win over the Milwaukee Bucks, with Terry Rozier and LaMelo Ball combining for 50 points. Miles Bridges recorded a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. For the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded 26 points and 13 rebounds, Khris Middleton recorded 27 points and Jordan Nwora had 18 points. The Bucks have now lost twice in three days to the Hornets and four of their last five games in the NBA this season.

The New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs 111-96 in their NBA clash. RJ Barrett led the scoring for the Knicks with 31 points, and Mitchell Robinson had a double-double in the game with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

The Boston Celtics needed overtime to defeat the Indiana Pacers 101-98. After their game ended 89-89 in regulation, the Celtics took the initiative in overtime to win the game. Jayson Tatum contributed 24 points and 12 rebounds for the Celtics, and Jaylen Brown contributed 26 points and 15 rebounds as they improved to 20-21 for the season.

Philadelphia 76ers picked up a 111-91 win over the Houston Rockets in their NBA clash. Joel Embiid led the scoring for the Sixers with 31 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the game.

The Cleveland Cavaliers secured a narrow 109-108 win over the Sacramento Kings. Jarrett Allen led the scoring with 18 points and 17 rebounds, and Kevin Love recorded 18 points, as well. Highly-rated 20-year-old Rookie Evan Mobley also chipped in with 17 points for the Cavaliers.

Portland Trail Blazers picked up a shock 114-108 win over the Brooklyn Nets. Anfernee Simons led the scoring for the Trail Blazers with a double-double of 23 points and 11 assists in the game, and Robert Covington contributed 21 points. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving scored a combined 50 points, but it was not enough for the Nets.
