Curry unlikely to play game three against Rockets

If the Golden State Warriors had to play on Wednesday, Stephen Curry likely would not be in the line-up.

The Warriors guard told a news conference his sore right ankle is not quite up to game strength yet.

Fortunately for the Warriors, who lead the Houston Rockets 2-0 in their best-of-seven first-round Western Conference series, game three is on Thursday.

“Based on how I feel right now, I probably couldn’t play,” said Curry, via ESPN, adding that he is not able to run at full speed yet.

Curry is listed as questionable with the sore ankle, which he tweaked in game one.

He was a full participant in practice on Wednesday and did not display a limp.

While the general sense is, with a series lead, Warriors coach Steve Kerr will take a conservative approach to his playing status, Curry seems optimistic that the injury is healing nicely.

“Today was, in the words of Ice Cube, a good day,” Curry told reporters.
