Dakkada Fc Book State FA Cup Semi Final Spot With 1-0 Win Over Ibom Youths Fc.

- To face FC ONE Rockets in the Semi Final.

Nigerian Professional Football League Club Dakkada Fc this evening defeated NNL side Ibom Youths Fc 1-0 to book a place in the Semi Final of the 2022 Akwa Ibom state FA Cup.

 

Dakkada Fc midfielder Bolaji Micheal scored the only goal of the match in the 33rd minute . The midfielder smartly beat the opposition high line of defence to fire past goalkeeper Victor Obiowo.

 

The goal was a huge blow to the Ibom Youths Fc players who until that point had the best chances but failed to hit the target. First , striker Mfoniso Umoh blazed a shot over the crossbar from six yards before Chibuzor Princewill’s shot was brilliantly saved by Dakkada Fc goalkeeper Edidiong Usoro.

 

Dakkada Fc went into the break with the 1-0 lead. On resumption for the second half, Ibom Youths Fc piled pressure in search of an equalizer and came close to scoring in the 56th minute but Mfoniso Umoh’s effort from inside the area was saved by Dakkada Fc goalkeeper Edidiong Usoro.

 

In the 63rd minute , Dakkada Fc were reduced to 10 men with Midfielder Muritala Lawal sent off for violent conduct .

 

The numerical advantage allowed Ibom Youths Fc more space to press for an equalizer but a combination of Wasteful finishing and excellent defending by Dakkada Fc ensured there was no way back for the Nigerian National League side.

 

At the expiration of regulation time plus three minutes added on for stoppages, Referee Nsikakabasi Akpan signalled for full time to the keenly contested Akwa Ibom State FA Cup Quater Final match decided at the training pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International stadium Uyo, Nigeria. It tinished Dakkada Fc 1-0 Ibom Youths Fc.

 

Dakkada Fc will face FC ONE Rockets in the Semi Finals. The winner of this match will take on Akwa United FC in the final of this years Akwa Ibom State FA Cup.
