Daniel Daga Set for Second Appearance with Molde FK in Pre-Season Friendly
Nigerian youngster Daniel Daga is set to feature in his second match for Norwegian side Molde FK as they take on St. Patrick’s Athletic in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, February 1, 2025. The match will kick off at 11:30 PM at the Estadio Municipal Francisco Muñoz Pérez in Estepona, Spain.
Daga made his debut for Molde in a dominant 6-0 friendly victory against Træff, coming on as a substitute in the 77th minute. The 17-year-old midfielder, who recently joined from FC ONE Rocket, was introduced by coach Per-Mathias Høgmo as part of a series of second-half changes.
Molde had already secured a commanding 4-0 lead by halftime, with Fredrik Gulbrandsen netting twice alongside goals from Kristoffer Eriksen and Sigurd Haugan. The second half saw further goals from Fredi Ihler and Daniel Nakken, sealing an emphatic win.
The friendly against St. Patrick’s Athletic will provide another opportunity for Daga to gain valuable minutes and continue adapting to his new team. The highly-rated midfielder, who has represented Nigeria at youth level with the Flying Eagles, is eager to make an impact in European football.
As Molde FK continues its pre-season preparations, Daga will be looking to impress and stake his claim for a regular role in the squad ahead of the new campaign.
