Danny Welbeck Double Helps Brighton Beat Liverpool Again

Danny Welbeck scored twice as Brighton & Hove Albion defeated Liverpool to continue their strong form in the Premier League.
The 35-year-old striker gave Brighton an early lead with a simple finish. Liverpool later responded through Milos Kerkez, who took advantage of a mistake in Brighton’s defence to score the equaliser.
Brighton started the second half better and created more chances. Their pressure paid off when Welbeck scored his second goal of the match to restore his team’s lead.
The win means Brighton have now won four of their last five matches and moved up to eighth place on the table.
Liverpool, however, continue to struggle. This was their 10th league defeat of the season, their worst record in several years. Their poor form means they could drop further down the table depending on other results.
The match had a slow start as kick-off was delayed due to an accident near the stadium. When the game began, both teams made several mistakes.
Liverpool also suffered an injury blow early in the match when Hugo Ekitike was forced off after a collision.
Brighton took the lead after a mistake from Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, which led to Welbeck’s first goal.
Liverpool’s equaliser also came from a defensive error, as Kerkez reacted quickly to score.
Brighton had more chances to increase their lead, but Mamardashvili made some important saves to keep Liverpool in the game.
Liverpool also tried to find another goal, with efforts from Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister, and Cody Gakpo, but they could not score again.
Despite their big win in Europe during the week, Liverpool have now taken just one point from their last three league matches.
