Date set for Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury rematch

A date has been set for the highly anticipated rematch between Undisputed Champion Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury. Earlier this month, Usyk defeated Fury in a split decision to claim the Undisputed Champion title.

In their fight in Saudi Arabia, Usyk handed the Gypsy King his first-ever professional loss, with the final scores being 115-112, 113-114, and 114-113.

By winning, Usyk took the WBC title from Fury, adding it to his WBA (Super), WBO, IBF, and IBO crowns. This victory made Usyk the first boxer to unify the heavyweight division since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

Tyson Fury has activated the rematch clause in their contract, and the rematch is scheduled for December 21, 2024, during Riyadh Season. Promoter Frank Warren confirmed the rematch clause immediately after their initial fight.

Turki Alalshikh announced the rematch on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “The rematch between the Undisputed Champion Oleksandr Usyk and the Champion Tyson Fury is now scheduled on the 21st of December 2024 during Riyadh Season. The world will watch another historical fight again. Our commitment to boxing fans continues. We hope you enjoy it.”

Usyk will aim to defend his title as the Undisputed Champion following his victory over Fury. The rematch promises to be another thrilling event as Fury seeks to avenge his recent loss.
