David Trezeguet warns Kylian Mbappe against Anthony Martial’s mistake

David Trezeguet has told Kylian Mbappe to resist any and all transfer offers from the Premier League to avoid becoming the next Anthony Martial.

Mbappe has been linked with almost every top club in Europe with Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid all mooted to be suitors.

Trezeguet is a legend in France and began his career at Monaco where he won Ligue 1 twice in three years.

Mbappe is expected to cost upwards of £100 million after the season the teenager has had for Monaco upfront.

Mbappe’s form has transformed him into the most coveted attackers in Europe, but Trezeguet believes the striker should pause and think before leaving France.

Trezeguet pointed to the troubles of United frontman Martial who has struggled for game time under Jose Mourinho this season.

United paid £36 million for Martial in 2015 and the Monaco youth star exploded onto the scene in his debut campaign.

But the departure of Louis van Gaal and introduction of Mourinho ushered in a change of fortunes for Martial who was overlooked for a starting place in the Europa League final.

‘Leaving France for a much better league, you’ve problems,’ said Trezeguet, as reported by Mario Melchiot.

‘[Martial] is a very clear example.’

Mbappe played 44 games for Monaco this season as he helped fire the French side to a Ligue 1 title.

Monaco won their last 12 games in a row to fend off competition for the title and claim their first title since Trezeguet won it with the side back in 2000.
