Delta Masters & Omega Babes claim gold in men and women categories at 2019 PH Master Series 1

Delta Masters crushed all oppositions to claim gold at the 2019 PH Masters Series in men’s category while the Omega Babes also claimed gold in the Women’s category.

Four teams participated in the Men’s category namely South-West, South-South (Delta), Team Edo and Hocksport (Rivers Masters) while the Women’s category had just two teams.

Delta won their first game against South-West 1-0 to book their place in the final against Edo Team that scored five goals against hosts, Hocksport of Portharcourt.

The third place match between South-West and Hocksport ended in favour of South-West. Sunday Kaze and Ahmed Mabudi scored the goals.

The final match between Delta and Edo State was keenly contested only in the first minutes of the game.

Sunday Ogodogun’s brace and Adamson Lucky trademark strike rendered Sunday Ohikere individual goal insignificant as Felix Ghegor-led men ran away with a 3-1 victory in the final.

In the Women’s category the teams played in an home and away format. The first leg ended goalless while the second leg ended 2-0 in favour of Omega Babes.

Omega Babes defeated Zion Babes 2-0 in the final to claim the gold in the Women’s category.

Ifiemi Tulagha-Ocholi assisted Celina Ramson for Omega Babes first goal before scoring the second goal to complete the 2-0 easy win.

Lucky Ogedengbe finished as the tournament top scorer with three goals.
