Delta State Government Dissolves Delta Queens Management After Poor NWFL Season
The Delta State Government has dissolved the entire management team of Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) club, Delta Queens, following a disappointing 2025 season.
The announcement was made in a letter signed by Frank Okonma, Director of Public Relations at the State Sports Commission.
Okonma explained that the decision was made to revive the team’s poor form and restore its status in Nigerian women’s football.
“This dissolution is necessary to reposition the club for greater efficiency, professionalism, and competitiveness,” the statement read.
According to the commission, a new management board, technical crew, and fresh players will soon be appointed as part of the overhaul.
Delta Queens finished sixth in Group B of the 2025 NWFL season, collecting just 14 points from 14 matches with four wins, two draws, and eight losses.
