Dessers Reacts to Top Scorer Award: “A Wee Reward for Never Giving Up
Cyriel Dessers has described winning the Scottish Premiership Golden Boot as a “little consolation” for a season that ultimately fell short of silverware with Rangers.
The Super Eagles striker finished as the top scorer in the Scottish top flight with 18 goals in 36 appearances, an improvement on the 16 goals he netted in the previous campaign. This season also marked a personal milestone as he reached 50 goals in all competitions since joining Rangers.
While the Nigerian international admitted disappointment over the club’s failure to win a major trophy, he expressed pride in his personal achievement.
“Scottish Premiership Top Scorer 2024-25,” Dessers posted on social media. “Not the big trophy we all wanted, but a wee reward for never giving up…”
The 29-year-old’s consistent performances have been a bright spark in Rangers’ campaign, and his scoring exploits continue to bolster his reputation both in Scotland and among Super Eagles fans.
