Double blow for ‘rusty’ Vincent Enyeama

Maybe time is up as Vincent Enyeama yet suffer another shutout due to a similar reason.

Lille OSC manager Christophe Galtier has confirmed that he wouldn’t be calling on the veteran Nigerian goalie Vincent Enyeama to save them from relegation because he is rusty and hasn’t played at the top level in a year.

Since Marcelo Bielsa happened to Vincent Enyeama, the Nigerian hasn’t mounted the post for Lille. It was the Argentine manager who displaced Vincent Enyeama, injuries also didn’t help him when the manager was fired.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr who was keen on solving his goalkeeping crisis by inviting Vincent Enyeama recently ruled out his recall, stating he would only call players who play regularly at their clubs.

“He has problems in Lille at his club, Rohr told Soccer Laduma back in March.

“He is currently not playing and is only the number three at his side.

“He wanted to switch clubs but he didn’t find a new team.

“As a consequence, the question about Enyeama returning is not really up for debate.”

Lille OSC manager Christophe Galtier was quoted by L’Equipe to have ruled out a recall for Vincent Enyeama because he is match rusty same reason Gernot Rohr has decided not to call him back.

“It’s a reflection I had and I still have.

“He [Enyeama]has not played for a year at this level.

“He is still handicapped in relation to his injury and many things he cannot do.”
