D’Tigers crash out of Common Wealth games after loss to Scotland

Nigeria’s men basketball national team have crashed out of the 2018 Common Wealth games after a 66-61 loss to Scotland in the Men’s Qualifying Final game played at the Cairns Convention Centre on Tuesday.

After losing their first three games to New Zealand, Canada, and Australia a win in the qualifying round would have given them a chance on the podium with a Semifinal clash against Australia but failed against a young Scotland team.

Scotland won the first quarter 23-16, the second by 17-12 but Nigeria won the third quarter 18-6 to tie the score at 46-46 going into the 4th quarter.

But in the 4th quarter just as they had done in their previous games, they collapsed losing 20-15 in the quarter and then 61-66 at the end of the game.
