Eagle Soccer Flying High Again

Two seasons ago, St. Thomas Eagles almost won the TAPPS state title. Last season they lost in the state semifinals.

However, these close calls have not discouraged them from pursuing the ultimate price, the championship. This season they are doing much better. In fact, their performance would make them a favorite of online casino games on  online soccer betting with Betway, for the fans who bet on online casino games.

Their head coach Kenny Martins said that the bitter taste of failing to win the championship has been their motivation this season. He further states that the team is working hard to win games and avoid that bitter feeling.

They seem to be living up to their aspirations this season. They have run a record 18-2-1 on the season. They have triumphed over rivals St. Pius X with a 4-2 victory on Jan 17th. This victory marked their third consecutive win, putting them second in the TAPPS District before their next match against Katy St. John XXIII.

The Eagles have shown their might in both ends of the pitch this season. They have outscored their opponents by a margin of 74-12 in their first 21 games.

Their talisman this season has been their senior striker Allesandro Rivero. He has built on his brilliant tally of last season, where he scored 38 goals. This season so far, he has scored 21 goals.

The offensive side of their play is somewhat balanced. They are firing on all cylinders through their front three. The other players – Nico Prioli, David Steffes, and Pablo Tager have all hit the back of the net at least ten times so far this season.

Their midfield cannot go unmentioned. Their midfielders have also risen to the occasion times without number. Their link up play between the defense and the strikers has been a pillar to their success.

They are also doing well defensively. They have so far managed 14 clean sheets and have conceded less than two goals in a match all season. Their goalkeeper has been a wall that many have failed to penetrate. Robert Vara has only conceded ten goals in 16 games and has managed nine clean sheets.

Their general performance has been excellent that you could bet on Betway that they would keep a clean sheet, or score more than two goals against an opponent and win the bet.

This success is a result of close to four years of intentional culture reboot. Martins, the head coach, has been the mastermind behind the rebuild. In the last 101 games, he has managed 79 victories and only 14 defeats.

The rebuild has not been devoid of challenges; they have faced several setbacks. The problems seem to have made them stronger, as displayed in their performances this season. They are fearless and united in their pursuit of honors.

To succeed this season, they will have to be stronger than they have ever been to get their hands on the elusive trophy. And like they say in their mantra: Eagle fight never dies!
